The purpose of establishing the Centre for Information and Communication Technology (CICT), the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, is to charge the Centre with the responsibilities of deploying Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and services for Management, Administration, Teaching, Research, and Learning in the Polytechnic Community.
To complement the Polytechnic Motto, Vision and Mission, CICT has outlined a Motto, Vision and Mission thus:

To build an effective and efficient ICT System that would be a focal point to develop and meet the ICT needs of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, and the global community.
Description of the CICT Logo
The pink colour in the banner and round ring is the Polytechnic colour for indicating intuitive and insightful, showing tenderness and kindness with its empathy and sensitivity. The round ring indicates the wholeness between CICT and the Polytechnic Community. The Satellite dish signifies the devices for data transmission and broadcast, the parabolic shape of the dish reflects the signal to the dish’s focal point which house the CICT.
The thunder flash from CICT to various units such as SOE, SSCE, SES, SBS, CEDVS, CEC etc indicates how data will be transmitted from CICT to entire Polytechnic community wirelessly, wired, radio, infrared etc.
The open-book represents knowledge gained through research, training and development in relation to e-learning and ICT.
