Registry Staff Admonished To Be Dedicated and More Committed To Duty
Registry Staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti have been admonished to improve on their job, embrace the spirit of oneness and extend a helping hand to one another to move the Registry and the Institution forward.
The Registrar of the Institution, Mrs. Folashade Akintola gave the admonition in a meeting with various Heads of Directorate/Units and members of the Registry respectively.
Mrs. Akintola who appreciated God for bringing everyone into the New Year safely noted that the Registry would take a new turn, as meetings will be held from time to time in order to brainstorm and proper solutions to whatever challenges in the various Directorates/Units.
The Registrar maintained that the quarterly in-house training and re-turning of staff and the Annual Registry Lecture Series will be set in motion and called on all Heads of Directorates/Units to encourage their subordinates to key into the idea as it would help boost their career, and a lot of errors would be avoided on the job.
She added that attending conferences just to get certificates is not enough but members of staff must be ready to present papers at such meetings to improve on themselves and be well informed
Mrs. Akintola also urged members of staff who have been posted to various schools to work in the interest of the Registry wherever they are posted to.
The Registrar further stated that the Registry Ceremonies Committee that was set up in the previous year has been able to come up with a lot of ideas that would help move the Registry forward.
“The welfare scheme/Ceremonies Committee held series of meetings and has come up with a detailed report. The committee recommended the creation of Registry WhatsAPP platform, which has already been created”.
“They also recommended that members of staff will be contributing some amount of money monthly. Staff from level 1- 6 will be paying a sum of one thousand naira, while level 7-14 will be contributing two thousand naira making it a yearly contribution of twelve thousand naira and twenty- four thousand naira respectively”.
She opined that the contribution would be used to generate revenue for the Registry, end of year get together, celebration of retirees, award of excellence to staff with excellent performance and cash gifts would be given to Staff who have one celebration or the other. She added that members of staff are only entitled to one gift per year.
Mrs. Akintola further admonished everyone to continue to pray for the growth of the Polytechnic, cooperate with one another and dress nicely to work, “as the way you dress is the way you will be addressed,” she added
Also speaking at the meeting, a Deputy Registrar and also the Chairman of SSANIP, Mr. Sunday komolafe noted that the Rector, Dr. Temitope John Alake is currently working towards members of staff acquiring one certificate program or the other to improve themselves.
Mr. Komolafe maintained that it is important to be ICT compliant as the world is going digital. He implored everyone to grab the opportunity of learning as the programme starts.
