Alumni President Donates Solar System to Polytechnic Senior Staff Club

The National President of the alumni association of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, Engr Abdulrafiu Badru on Thursday 9th April 2026 demonstrated his continued commitment to the institution’s growth with the donation of solar power system to the Institution’s senior staff club.

At the commissioning ceremony, the Rector of the institution Engr. Dr Temitope John Alake extolled the philanthropic disposition of the alumni president, Engr Badru Abdulrafiu, whose benevolence, he noted exemplified a profound sense of civic responsibility. The Rector who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr Micheal Akinola further commended the collective resolve of the alumni members in bringing the project to reality, observing that the installation would significantly ameliorate the persistent challenges posed by Nigeria’s precarious electricity supply.

In a goodwill message by the Registrar, Mrs Folashade Akintola who was represented by Mr Jonathan Arogundade, lauded the initiative as a commendable stride towards institutional enhancement. She urged stakeholders to cultivate unity of purpose and sustain their support for the Polytechnic's mandate, noting that such collaborative endeavours remain pivotal to enduring progress.

The Alumni President, who was represented by the National Public Relations Officer of the alumni, Engr Ismaila Bayegun while expounding on the underlying rationale behind the donation, reiterated the imperative of prioritizing the welfare of staff, he intimated that the gesture constituted merely a precursor to broader scheme of interventions with prospective extensions to other units within the institution already in view.

In his speech, the President of the Senior Staff Club of the Polytechnic, Mr Adeboye Olaniyi enjoined other well-meaning stakeholders to emulate the laudable gesture. The occasion, which also witnessed the ceremonial laying of the foundation of the women’s wing extension of the club, had dignitaries of the Polytechnic in attendance.
