Student Body Charged To Be Diligent

Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti have been called upon to be diligent and focus on the reason why they are students and always seek to be the best at all times in all that they do.

The Rector of the Institution, Engr. Dr. Temitope John Alake gave his admonition at the Inauguration ceremony of the newly elected Students Executive Council, Legislature Arm and the Judicial Council of the students body to run the affairs of the student community for the 2025/2026 Academic session.

Dr.Alake who was represented by the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Michael Akinola further enjoined the student leaders to always strive to do well irrespective of the pressure that will come their way.

“You should learn to devise a good working relationship with the Management to create a mutual relationship. You should not allow yourselves to be pushed around. The peace on campus should be sustained as only in the atmosphere of peace that development can thrive”.

The Rector commended the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Sunday Olajide for faithfully piloting the Affairs of the Directorate effectively and efficiently. He also commended the immediate past president of the student body for being cool headed with the students’ interest paramount in his heart.

In his address at the brief but colourful ceremony, the Dean Student Affairs, Dr. Sunday Olajide congratulated the student leaders for their election victory while urging them to always imbibe the principles of the 4-Cs of conflict resolution at all times, this he noted will bring about fruitful results, while acknowledging the management for being pro-active at all times when it comes to students issues, he said his doors are always open at all times for their complaints, observations, suggestions and contributions for the smooth running of the entire system.

Also in his address, the newly elected president appreciated his campaign team and other aspirants for making the contest meaningful.

He pledged to lead with transparency, accountability and inclusiveness, while also promising to priotise students welfare as their comfort is the true measure of a responsive government.

The president added that his administration will promote intellectual growth through seminars and mentorship programs, while also encouraging creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

He however said they are ready to partner with the management as they believe that true progress is achieved when the student leadership and management work hand in glove in mutual respect and understanding.
