2025/2026 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The harmonized minimum subject entry requirements for National Diploma (ND) Programmes using the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) 2024 Reviewed Guidelines, submissions from the Heads of Departments with the corresponding subject combinations in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and acceptable National Diploma Courses for Higher Diploma Programmes in the 2025/2026 Academic Session, are as shown in the table overleaf:

 GENERAL GUIDELINES

  1. WASC/NECO/GCE O’level/SSCE/NABTEB Examination with Five (5) Credit Passes in subjects relevant to the Programme at not more than two (2) sittings
  2. NABTEB-National Technical Certificate (NTC) with relevant Trade Name would be accepted for admission and not NABTEB-National Business Certificate (NBC) or NABTEB-General Education Certificate (NGC) for anybody using NABTEB Result(s) in the School of Engineering.
  3. NABTEB-National Technical Certificate (NTC) and NABTEB-General Education Certificate (NGC) would be accepted for admission in the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology and School of Science and Computer Studies
  4. NABTEB-National Business Certificate (NBC) would be accepted for admissions in the School of Business Studies.
  5. NABTEB-National Technical Certificate (NTC) would be accepted for admissions in the School of Environmental Studies. Also, NABTEB-General Education Certificate (NGC) would be also be acceptable for admission in some courses as indicated in the course requirements.
  6. All candidates applying for programmes in the Institution must possess credit level passes in Mathematics and English Language. (Literature in English Language or Oral English cannot be used in place of English Language).

Business Administration & ManagementThe Minimum entry requirements into National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration and Management are Five (5) Credits passes in WASC/NECO/GCE O’level/SSCE/NABTEB at not more than two (2) sittings.UTME Subject Requirements:
The subjects must include:
1. English Language (2) Mathematics- English Lang;
3. Any one (1) of the following: Economics, Commerce, Principles of Accounts/Book keeping;- Mathematics;

- English Language;
The subjects must include:- Any other three (3) subjects

The subjects must include:- Any two (2) from, Economics/Commerce, Government/Civic/

Electrical and Electronic EngineeringThe Minimum entry requirements into National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering are Five (5) Credits passes in WASC/NECO/GCE O’level /SSCE/NABTEB at not more than two (2) sittings.UTME Subject Requirements:
The subjects must include:- English Lang; - Mathematics;

Mechanical EngineeringThe Minimum entry requirements into National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering are Five (5) Credits passes in WASC/ NECO/GCE O’level/ SSCE/ NABTEB at not more than two (2) sittings.UTME Subject Requirements:
The subject must include:- English Lang. - Mathematics;
- Physics;
1. English Language (2) Mathematics (3) Physics (4) Chemistry- Chemistry.
5. Plus any one (1) of the following:

2025/2026 NATIONAL DIPLOMA ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE

Applications for Screening of Credentials are hereby requested from interested applicants who wrote the 2025/2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and chose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti or are willing to change to the Institution as 1st choice.

 

(A)       ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

(i)      All applicants who chose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and obtained a Minimum Acceptable Mark (MAM) of 120 in the 2025/2026 UTME. In addition to the above, applicants must possess relevant five (5) O’ level subject requirements at Credit level in not more than two (2) sittings in SSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB as applicable.

(ii)     Any applicant applying with NABTEB (NTC) for Courses in the School of Engineering (SOE) must in addition to the five (5) relevant O’level subjects in (i) above possess a core subject from the Trade Related Area (TRA), and not Book Keeping, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, or Secretariat Studies etc. While applicants applying for Business related Courses can use NABTEB (NBC). For avoidance of doubt, NABTEB Business Certificate (NBC) and NABTEB General Education Certificate (NGC) are not accepted in the School of Engineering.

(iii)    Applicants with NABTEB Technical Certificate (NTC) and NABTEB General Education Certificate (NGC) can also apply for courses in the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology and School of Science and Computer Studies.

(iv)   Applicants with NABTEB-National Technical Certificate (NTC) can apply for admissions in the School of Environmental Studies. Also, NABTEB-General Education Certificate (NGC) is acceptable for admission in some courses in the School as indicated in the course requirements on the Polytechnic website (See details on item v)

(v)     Applicants should carefully consider the O’Level requirements of the Programme they wish to apply for. Information of the O’Level requirements can be found on the 2025/2026 Admission Application Page (www.fedpolyado.edu.ng)

            Screening Application Form

(i)       Applicants should visit the application portal via https://students.fedpolyado.edu.ng/Applicant/Form/FormInvoiceGeneration to generate and print application payment invoice.

(ii)      Upon printing of invoice, Applicants can proceed to any bank of their choice with the invoice generated and make payment of ₦2, 000.00 on the Remita Platform.

(iii)     Applicants can also make payment with their debit cards (Master Card, Visa Card and Verve Card) following the instructions on the invoice generation page. (Note: before payment with debit card, print your Invoice

(iv)      After payment, Applicants should revisit the School Portal and fill their screening forms using the RRR number on the payment invoice (slip). The invoice and the RRR must be in the Applicant’s name.

(v)      Each applicant should ensure that the name provided on their RRR is the same as the name on the application form and their National Identity Number (NIN)

(vi)      Applicants are advised to carefully read through their forms before submission.

(vii)    Applicants should endeavour to print their acknowledgement slip and screening forms.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for admission to the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti for National Diploma Evening and Part-Time (Six Semesters) Programmes in the 2025/2026 Academic Session leading to the award of National Diploma.

(i)  All Applicants who chose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and scored 120 and above in the 2025/2026 UTME but did not meet the required aggregate score for the course of choice can apply for Evening Programme.

In addition to the above, Applicants must possess five [5] relevant O’level subjects at Credit level including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two [2] sittings, in SSCE, NECO, GCE and/or NABTEB.

(ii) Any applicant applying with NABTEB (NTC) for Courses in the School of Engineering (SOE) must in addition to the five (5) relevant O’level subjects in (i) above possess a core subject from the Trade Related Area (TRA), and not Book Keeping, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, or Secretariat Studies etc. While applicants applying for Business related Courses can use NABTEB (NBC). iii.        Pay the JAMB prescribed application and processing fee.

This will enable you to obtain JAMB registration number and admission letter which will be presented for registration of admitted candidates

STAGE 2:  Polytechnic Portal

  • Applicants should visit the Polytechnic website https://students.fedpolyado.edu.ng/Applicant/Form/FormInvoiceGeneration to generate and print application payment invoice.
  • After clicking on application, click on generate invoice, then click the drop-down menu under PROGRAMME and select ND EVENING/PART-TIME; then, click on the drop-down menu under COURSE to select your desired course of choice; afterwards, enter the required personal details; then, click generate invoice.

(iii)       Upon printing of the invoice, applicants can proceed to any bank of their choice with the invoice generated and make payment of N11,500 on the Remita Platform.

(iv)       Applicants can also make payment with their debit cards (Master Card, Visa Card and Verve Card) following the           instructions on the invoice generation page. (Note: before payment with debit card, print your Invoice).     

 (v)       After payment, applicants should revisit the School Portal and fill their application forms using the RRR number on      the payment invoice (slip).  The invoice and the RRR must be in the applicant’s name.

(vi)       Each applicant should ensure that the name provided on their RRR is the same as the name on the        application form and their National Identity Number (NIN)

(vii)     Applicants should upload their O’ Level results on the School Portal for necessary processing.

(viii)    Applicants are advised to carefully read through their forms before submission.

(viii)    Applicants should endeavour to print their acknowledgement slip and application form.

2.0 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

2.1  Applicants should possess:

(i) National Diploma (ND) with at least Lower Credit in the Course/Programme of choice and five (5) Credit in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics at the SSCE/NECO/GCE or relevant NABTEB O’Level Examinations in not more than two (2) sittings.

(ii)Any applicant with NABTEB (NTC) for Courses in the School of Engineering (SOE), must in addition to the five (5) O’level subjects above possess a core subject from the Trade Related Area (TRA), and not Book Keeping, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, or Secretariat Studies etc. While applicants applying for Business related Courses can use NABTEB (NBC). For avoidance of doubt, NABTEB Business Certificate (NBC) and NABTEB General Education Certificate (NGC) are not accepted in the School of Engineering.

(iii) Applicants with NABTEB Technical Certificate (NTC) and NABTEB General Education Certificate (NGC) can also apply for courses in the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, and School Science and Computer Studies.

(iv) Applicants with NABTEB-National Technical Certificate (NTC) can apply for admissions in the School of Environmental Studies. Also, NABTEB-General Education Certificate (NGC) is acceptable for admission in some courses in the School as indicated in the course requirements on the Polytechnic website (See item vi for details).

(v) Applicants must possess their ND Results and IT Letters among other documents for uploading before applying.

(vi) Applicants are advised to visit the Polytechnic 2025/2026 Admission Application Page www.fedpolyado.edu.ng to avail themselves of the requisite entry requirements for the National Diploma (ND) of each Programme that make them prima-facie qualified for the HND programmes.

2.2  In addition to 2.1, a minimum of Nine (9) Months post ND cognate work experience (Industrial Training) is required for applicants with Lower Credit Grade and above at the National Diploma, while applicants with Pass Grade must have minimum of Eighteen (18) Months post ND cognate work experience.

 

3.0    METHOD OF APPLICATION

    Applicants seeking for admission to The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti are required to complete the Institution’s application form available on-line from Friday, 1st August, 2025.

4.0    ADMISSION FORM GUIDELINES 

          Application Form

          (i)   Applicants should visit the Polytechnic Website https://students.fedpolyado.edu.ng/Applicant/Form/FormInvoiceGeneration to generate and print application payment invoice.

         (iii)  Applicants can also make payment with their debit cards (Master Card, Visa Card and Verve Card) following the instructions on the invoice generation page.  

        (iv)  After payment, applicants should revisit the School Portal and fill their application forms using the RRR number on the payment invoice (slip). The invoice and the RRR must be in the Candidates’ name.

   (v) Applicants should endeavor to upload their ND Result and IT Letter

   (vi)Applicants should also print their acknowledgement slips after filling the application forms.  

(viii)   Applicants should note that the Polytechnic does not employ external agencies for processing of Admission, therefore, they should beware of scammers.

      5.0  SUBMISSION OF FORMS

Applicants are to please note that the application for admission which is online will close on Sunday, 31st August, 2025. Applicants are advised to visit the Polytechnic website www.fedpolyado.edu.ng regularly for further detailed instructions on the on-line application as from Monday, 4th August, 2025.

NOTE:

  • All HND Morning, Evening and Part-Time applicants will be required to sit for an aptitude test. This will be in the form of a Computer Based Test

 

(CBT) which is meant to test the basics of National Diploma Syllabi. The  CBT  would  include Test of English, General Paper, and areas of ND Specialization.

  • Applicants who did their ND in other similar Tertiary Institutions should also ensure that the transcripts of their Academic Records are forwarded directly by their former Institutions to reach;

(d) National Diploma (ND) Statement of Result reads effective date of February 2024 or later, for an applicant with grade of Pass.

(e)  All applications with false details will be rejected.
