2023/2024 Admission Requirements (ND & HND)

2023/2024 NATIONAL DIPLOMA ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE

Applications for Screening of Credentials are hereby requested from interested applicants who wrote the 2023/2024 UTME and chose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti or are willing to change to the Institution as 1st choice. 

 

(A) ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

(i) All applicants who chose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and obtained a Minimum Acceptable Mark (MAM) of 140  in the 2023/2024 UTME. 

In addition to the above, applicants must possess five (5) O’ level subject requirements at Credit level in not more than two (2) sittings in SSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB.

(ii) Any applicant applying with NABTEB (NTC) for Courses in the School of Engineering (SOE) and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT), must in addition to the five (5) O’level subjects in (i) above possess a core subject from the Trade Related Area (TRA), and not Book Keeping, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, or Secretarial Studies etc. While applicants applying for Business related Courses can use NABTEB (NBC). For avoidance of doubt, NABTEB Business Certificate (NBC) is not accepted in the School of Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering accept NABTEB, NBC certificate with a relevant core subjects. However, the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering accepts NABTEB (NBC) in relevant core subjects.

(iii)   Applicants with NABTEB (General Education) can also apply for courses in the School of Engineering (SOE), and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT).

(iv) Applicants should carefully consider the O’Level subject requirements of the department they wish to apply for. Information on the O’Level subject requirements can be found on the 2023/2024 Admission Application page.

(v) Applicants who scored 140 and above in the last UTME but did not choose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti as 1st choice Institution and are interested in changing to the Institution can do so.

Screening Application Form

(i)  Applicants should visit the Polytechnic Website www.students.fedpolyado.edu.ng and click on applicants to generate and print screening application payment invoice. 

(ii) Upon printing of invoice, applicants can proceed to any bank of their choice alongside the invoice generated and make payment of 2, 000.00 on the Remita Platform. 

(iii) Applicants can also make payment with their debit card (Master Card, Visa Card and Verve Card) following the instructions on the invoice generation page. (Note: before payment with debit card, print your Invoice)  

(iv) After payment, applicants should revisit the School Portal and fill their screening forms using the RRR number on the payment invoice (slip). The invoice and the RRR must be in the applicant’s name. 

(v)   Applicants are advised to carefully read through their forms before submission.

(vi)  Applicants should endeavor to print their acknowledgement slip and screening forms.

ADMISSION TO NATIONAL DIPLOMA EVENING PROGRAMME FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Applicants for admission to The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti for National Diploma Part-time/ Evening Programmes in the 2023/2024 Academic Session leading to the award of
National Diploma.
(A) GENERAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES
(i) All Applicants who chose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti but did not obtain a Minimum Acceptable
Mark (MAM) of 140 in the 2023/2024 UTME can apply.
In addition to the above applicants must possess five [5] O’Level relevant subject requirements at Credit level including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two [2] sittings, in SSCE, NECO,
GCE and NABTEB.
(ii) Any Applicant applying with NABTEB (NTC) for courses in the School of Engineering (SOE) and School of
Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT), must in addition to the five [5] O’Level subjects in (i) above
possess a core subject from the Trade Related Area (TRA), and not Book keeping, Commerce, Principles of
Accounts, or Secretariat Studies, etc. While applicants applying for Business related courses can use NABTEB
(NBC). For avoidance of doubt, NABTEB Business Certificate (NBC) is not accepted in the School of
Engineering and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology. However, the Department of Mechanical
Engineering accepts NABTEB (NBC) Certificate with relevant core subjects.
(iii) Applicants with NABTEB(General Education) can also apply for courses in the School of Engineering (SOE)
  and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT).
(iv)   Applicants should carefully consider the O’Level subject requirements of the departments they wish to apply for
information on the O’Level subject requirements can be found on 2023/2024 Admission Application Page.
(v) Applicants who scored below 140 in the last UTME and did not choose The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti as
choice Institution can also apply.
(B) METHOD OF APPLICATION
The application is in two stages viz:
STAGE 1
Visit JAMB office or any JAMB CBT Accredited Centres nearest to you for registration with the
underlisted details:
(i) Valid E-mail Address
(ii) Phone Numbers and
(iii) N4,200 as application
This will enable you to obtain JAMB Registration Number and Admission letter.
STAGE 2
(i) Applicants should visit the Polytechnic website www.students. fedpolyado.edu.ng and click on applicants to
generate and print application payment invoice.
(ii) After clicking on applicants, click on generate invoice, next click the drop-down menu under PROGRAMME and
select ND PART-TIME/EVENING; next, click on the drop-down menu under COURSE to select your desired
course of choice; afterwards, enter required personal details; then, click generate invoice.
(iii) Upon printing of invoice, applicants can proceed to any bank of their choice along side the invoice generated and
make payment of ₦11,500.00 on the Remita Platform.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should possess:

 (i) National Diploma (ND) with at least Lower Credit in the Course/Programme of choice and five (5) Credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics at the SSCE/NECO/GCE or NABTEB O’Level examinations in not more than two (2) sittings.

(ii) Any applicant with NABTEB (NTC) for Courses in the School of Engineering (SOE) and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT), must in addition to the five (5) O’level subjects above possess a core subject from the Trade Related Area (TRA), and not Book Keeping, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, or Secretarial Studies etc. While applicants applying for Business related Courses can use NABTEB (NBC). For avoidance of doubt, NABTEB Business Certificate (NBC) is not accepted in the School of Engineering and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology. However, the Department of Mechanical Engineering accepts NABTEB(NBC) Certificate with relevant core subjects.

(iii) Applicants with NABTEB (General Education) can also apply for courses in the School of Engineering (SOE) and School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT).

(iv) Applicants are advised to visit the Polytechnic Website www.fedpolyado.edu.ng to avail themselves of the requisite entry requirements for the National Diploma (ND) of each programme that make them prima-facie qualified for the HND programmes.

A minimum of one (1) year post ND cognate work experience (Industrial Training) in addition to 2.1.

However, applicants with PASS grade at the National Diploma (ND) must have minimum of two (2) years or 24 months post ND cognate work experience.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Applicants seeking for admission to The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti are required to complete the Institution’s application form available on-line from Monday, 31st July, 2023.

ADMISSION FORM GUIDELINES 

Application Form

(i) Applicants should visit the Polytechnic website students.fedpolyado.edu.ng to generate and print application payment invoice.

(ii) Upon printing of invoice, applicants can proceed to any bank of their choice with the invoice generated and make payment of thirteen thousand naira (N13,000.00) only (Administrative charges not inclusive) on the remita platform.

(iii) Applicants can also make payment with their debit card (Master Card, Visa Card and Verve Card) following the instructions on the invoice generation page.   

(iv) After payment applicants should revisit the School Portal and fill their application form using the RRR number on the payment invoice (slip). The invoice and the RRR must be in the Candidates’ name.

(v) Applicants should endeavor to print their acknowledgement slip after filling the application form.

5.0  SUBMISSION OF FORMS

Applicants are to please note that the application for admission will close on Friday, 15th September, 2023.

Step 1: Make a formal request to the Registrar of the Polytechnic. The request should contain the following details:

The address of your organization (including E-mail address) making the request

The name and phone number of the person making the request on behalf of the organization

A photocopy of the statement of result or certificate to be verified is attached to the application/request for verification.

Step 2: Attach evidence of payment of the approved fees for the verification. The approved fees for verification of the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma statement of results respectively are N5,000 (with or without transcript). The fee is N10,000 for both (with or without transcripts).
