Professionals in all discipline have been charged to come to term with the importance of ICT and update to be compliant or risk being irrelevant in the scheme of things.
Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye gave the charge while declaring open a five-day TETFUND sponsored International Computer Drivers License (ICDL) computer training programme held at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti on Monday, 7th of September, 2020.
Dr. Oladebeye who said that the importance of ICT cannot be overemphasized considering the speed of the inevitable changes going on around the world, called for training and retraining of personnel to refresh their memories and also afford those who were yet to be compliant, the opportunity to key into it.
The Rector stressed that virtually all disciplines now depend on ICT as one of their tools and progress factor. He therefore urged all about 100 participants to put in all their efforts and make good use of the golden opportunity before them.
While thanking TETFUND the organizers for coming up with the idea of the training, he said the seminar was timely and would be of great benefit to all participants, who were made up of selected Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the Polytechnic.
The five-day training programme was rounded-up on Friday, 11th of September with a vote of thanks from the Director of ICT, Mr. Michael Owolabi who appreciated Tetfund for the sponsorship and success of the programme.
He also thanked all the Principal Officers especially the Rector for their doggedness, attendance and participation throughout the training inspite of their very busy schedules. Certificate of participation were issued to all participants at the end of the training, while the Examination for ICDL Basic and ICDL Intermediate Certificates held on Monday 14th September, 2020.
