Alake Commissions Borehole at Rector’s Village
Water is life, this truism came to fruition as a brand new borehole was commissioned by the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, Engr. Dr. Temitope John Alake for the use of the inhabitants of the Rector’s village of the Institution and its environs on Tuesday 17th June, 2025.
Speaking at the Commissioning, Dr. Alake who went philosophical noted that if only as human, we can all be good to one another, the world will be a better place for all to live, the Management obviously cannot meet up with the needs of everyone but will continue to do all within its capacity to ameliorate the needs as they arise.
“We are not unmindful of the expectations of staff and some of the difficulties being encountered, we will continue to strive to do the best which we can to bring succor at all times. The electricity bill is an area of challenge, which we are appealing to the Federal Government and some agencies to come to our aid as efforts are on to ensure the establishment of solar farms on campus to compliment and reduce dependence on the national grid with it’s astronomical monthly bill, Dr. Alake added”.
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Michael Akinola, whose office supervised the project commended the Rector for facilitating the provision of the borehole for the water needs of the Rector’s village inhabitants and its environs.
Also, speaking at the brief but colourful ceremony, the Registrar, Mrs. Folasade Akintola described the Rector as a humanist Rector who has the interest and the wellbeing of the people at heart.
In his vote of thanks, the Chairman of Rector’s village residents, Dr. O.A. Oyedele commended the Rector and his Management team for bringing succor to the water needs of the villagers.
