The Chairman of the 10th Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado, Ekiti, Chief Austin Edeze (MON) has been variously described as a man of impeccable character who was committed to the overall growth and development of the institution during his tenure.
The Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye, who led others in pouring encomiums on Chief Edeze during the formal handing over ceremony as the outgoing Chairman of the Institution’s 10th Governing Council describes him as a man who was hard working and exemplary leader, adding that he is a man who was deeply interested in the wellbeing of the institution.
Corroborating the Rector, Chairmen of the three Industrial Unions on campus, Dr. ‘Bisi Olaseinde of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Dr. Oluwole Ayeni of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Mr. Abubakar Adebayo of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) variously described the immediate past Chairman of Council as a great politician, good administrator and a great servant leader, who at all time ensured that there was no disruption to the peaceful academic atmosphere by doing the needful at the appropriate time.
Chief Edeze, during his speech at the brief but colourful ceremony, note that occasion afforded him an opportunity to say thank you to the institution and as well use the handling over to chart a new path that would give direction to the next Governing Council Chairman, adding that the institution is growing one and full of potentials, which need to be nurtured.
He commended the Unions for achieving much with him without any rancor or disruption of the element academic atmosphere and urged the Management to continue to listen to the Unions and members of staff so as to end well, without problem.
He further commended the Management for making staff welfare its priority, noting that his tenure was not without some challenges, some of which they were to overcome while those that they were unable to overcome; a pattern to follow has been provided for the incoming Council on them.
He profusely thanked the Management and staff for their cooperation during his tenure and wished the Institution better days ahead.
