FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ADO-EKITI ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW APPOINTMENTS
The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, has announced four new appointments to enhance the smooth running of the Institution’s operations.
Those appointed on the approval of the Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye are; Dr. Michael O. Akinola as the Dean of the newly created School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT); Dr. Akim A.G. Olorunnisola as the new Dean for the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) of the Polytechnic; Mr. John A. Otalu as the Acting Director for the Directorate of University Degrees and Affiliation Programme (DUDAP) and Dr. Emmanuel A. Akeju as the Acting Head for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
While the appointment of Dr. Akinola as the Acting Dean is a pioneering one for the new School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology with effect from the commencement of the 2020/2021 Academic Session, Dr. Akim Olorunnisola’s appointment as Dean of CEC with effect from 1st March, 2021 is to take over from Engr. Babatunde Agun, who had been Dean from 28th February, 2018 till 28th February, 2021.
Also, Mr. J.A. Otalu, who has been Deputy Director of DUDAP is taking over as the Acting Director with effect from 1st March, 2021, from Dr. Fredrick Aso Isife who had served as Director since 28th February, 2018 to 28th February, 2021.
The appointment of Dr. Emmanuel A. Akeju, as the Acting Head of Mechanical Engineering Department followed the appointment of Dr. Olorunnisola, the immediate past H.O.D. as the new Dean of the Continuing Education Centre.
Dr. Akeju’s latest appointment is “with effect from 1st March 2021 pending the election of a substantive Head of Department.” It will be recalled that Dr. E.A. Akeju, an Alumnus of the department of Mechanical Engineering was also a former Director of Works as well as one time Director of the Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for Engineering Innovation (OOCEI) in the Polytechnic.
