FPA Handed Over to God...Alake Proclaims
It was a time of rejoicing and excitement as members of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti held its first Polytechnic Staff Prays/Thanksgiving service on Wednesday, 8th January, 2025.
The programme which took place in the Institution brought together the Management and Staff from various Schools,Directorates,Departments/Units of the Polytechnic, to honour God for His goodness in the previous year and to thank Him ahead of the New Year.
Speaking at the gathering, the Rector, Dr. Temitope John Alake appreciated God for His preservation and protection over every member of the Polytechnic Community. While appreciating members of staff for their contributions towards achieving great feats in the previous year, he admonished all to embrace the spirit of unity, be fair in their dealings with one another and to shun the habit of exploiting people in the New Year.
The Rector noted the importance of putting God first in everything and appealed to the Christians in the Polytechnic to ensure that they attend the monthly prayer meetings in
subsequent times. “According to Isaiah 40:4, Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low before us this year. Let’s continue to declare God’s words concerning this Institution and the Country at large’. He added.
He further reiterated the Management’s efforts at ensuring that the welfare of staff and students is given utmost priority in the New Year.
Dr. Alake further implored everyone to take good care of their health by eating nutritional meals, live within their means and continue to pray for the growth and development of the
Polytechnic. “Assist the Institution with your prayers so that we don’t make mistakes. Take a look at the shortfall in salary. With little effort, we were able to recover the money”. The coordinator, Polytechnic Staff Prays, Engr. S.O Faluyi stated that the monthly intercession for the Institution starts by 8.30 in the morning on Wednesday, 5th February 2025. He urged everyone to come together and keep the altar burning for God ‘as men ought to pray and not faint’.
