IT Certificate Now Mandatory for Polytechnic Graduates Says NBTE

The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE has said Polytechnic students must now obtain the Industrial Training Mandatory Certificate in order to be mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

The NBTE Director of SIWES/NYSC Liaison, Mallam Dauda Baba Halah who made this know at the exit interview of the SIWES Accreditation exercise held at the institution, noted that the exercise is to make the Institution better and to ensure that the students have firsthand experience in their course of study.

Mallam Dauda Baba Halah stated that it was important to put in place some safety measures, equipment/facilities in the Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme, SIWES office in order to avoid unnecessary errors and to maintain a good working environment for the staff and students.

He also recommended a proper student’s industrial training logbook for the Institution and maintained that information about SIWES should be included in the students’ handbook for them to be aware of the courses available for such programmes.

The NBTE Director of SIWES/NYSC Liaison noted that the tenure of Departmental SIWES Coordinators should not be more than two years to give room for others to understudy and serve in such position.

Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Engr. (Dr) Temitope John Alake appreciated the Director for making efforts at ensuring that the needed manpower and facility improvement are put in place to move the Institution forward.

The Rector, who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Academics, Dr. Aderemi Akinyemi assured the Director of the Management’s readiness to improve on the services of the SIWES office for optimal results.

Dr. Akinyemi stated that the Polytechnic is not resting on its oars, as there are various ongoing projects that would be completed in no distant time.

He added that the next edition of the students’ Handbook and prospectus would capture information on SIWES to keep the students abreast of necessary information.

Five thousand Naira (N5,000) for HND results with or without Transcript.

Ten thousand Naira (N10,000) for ND and HND results.

Step 3: Make the payment through Remita into the Polytechnic Reference account with the following code: 1000060528.

Step 4: Send your request to the email address verification.reg@fedpolyado.edu.ng. The verification process will begin promptly, and the outcome of the verification will be communicated to you via email.
