RECTOR TASKS POLICE TO BRACE UP IN ENHANCING SECURITY
The need for police officers to ensure the safety of lives and properties of the people has again been emphasized to curb the alarming rate of kidnapping and other crimes, which have recently become the order of the day.
Giving the charge, while playing host to the new Divisional Police Officer for Odo- Ado Division of Ekiti State Police Command, Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye tasked the Police on the need to remain people friendly by always ensuring security of lives and property.
The Rector appreciated the DPO, CSP Victor Akinsanya and his team for having the interest of the Polytechnic at heart and also deeming it fit to come and discuss on the security development of the institution under the jurisdiction of Odo- Ado Police Division.
Dr. Oladebeye was also elated to know that CSP Victor Akinsanya is an alumnus of the Polytechnic and hence pledged the support of the Institution in whatever capacity it was called upon to assist. He therefore prayed for a successful tenure in office for the recently deployed DPO.
Earlier in his address, the DPO, CSP Victor Akinsanya noted that the courtesy visit was to seek the cooperation of the Polytechnic in maintaining peace and order within the institution and its environs.
He assured the institution of the unwavering support of the Police authorities should there be any security challenges bedeviling the Polytechnic. He thanked the school Management for their support to the Police formation in recent years and clamored for more as such would always be welcomed.
In her remarks, the Registrar, Mrs. Kehinde Ekanem appreciated the officer and his team for their cooperation in the ensuing peace which the Polytechnic has enjoyed so far.
The Registrar also assured them that the Management would continue to do everything within its power to ensure that the Institution remain violence free.
