One hundred and forty-five staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti have been lifted in a gale of recent promotion exercise across cadres. Among those affected by the exercise, as approved by the Governing Council of the Institution, are fifty-six academic staff, while eighty-nine others fall into the non-teaching staff category.
A breakdown of the academic staff affected by the recent promotion, included thirteen new Chief Lecturers, ten Principal Lecturers, nine Senior Lecturers, twelve Lecturer I, one Chief Instructor and a Chief Technologist amongst others.
Those promoted in the non-teaching cadre included one Principal Assistant Registrar, one Chief Internal Auditor, two Chief Accountants, one Chief Laboratory Scientist, one Assistant Chief Accountant, three Assistant Chief Executive Officers, one Assistant Chief Coach, three Senior Assistant Registrars, two Senior Accountants and six Assistant Registrars amongst others.
Among the new Chief Lecturers is the immediate past Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) in the Institution, Mr. T.O. Owoeye, who is also the current Head of Department, Office Technology and Management as well as Mr. S.O. Awoyemi, Head of Department, Business Administration and Management. Other Heads of Department affected are Architect Peter Anthony and Builder F.O. Oladipo respectively of the Architectural Technology and Quantity Surveying Departments.
Other new Chief Lecturers include Mr. J.A. Otalu of the Department of General Studies and Deputy Director, (DUDAP); Engr. T.A. Ayelegun of the department of Agric. & Bio-Environmental Engineering and Deputy Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Vocational Studies.
Also affected are Mr. E.A. Boluwade of the Department of Mineral Resources and Petroleum Engineering Technology, four of the new Chief Lecturers are from the Computer Studies Department and they include Mr. O.O. Ogunlola, the current Sub-Dean of the Continuing Education Centre of the Polytechnic; Dr. M.K. Adu and Dr. O.I. Araoye and Mr. K.A. Akintoye, while two others are Chief Lecturers in Building Technology, Builders O.O. Ajetomobi and O.S. Anifowose.
The Academic Staff promotion, which cuts across various schools and departments in the Institution also included Mr. Ajibola Ajakaye as Chief Instructor and Engr. S.O. Akinlolu as Chief Technologist, among others, while some were affected by cases of conversion and upgrading.
Some of the non-teaching staff promoted included Mr. V.S. Ogundipe, the Chief Internal Auditor; others are Messrs. A.A. Afolalu and S.E. Olabode as Chief Accountants; Mr. C.S. Boroffice, Chief Laboratory Scientist; Mrs. G.U. Emmanuel, Assistant Chief Accountant; Mrs. R.O. Oyewale, Mr. A.O. Pelemo and A.E. Modubuko as Assistant Chief Executive Officers, Mrs. J.I. Abe as the Assistant Chief Coach and Engr. E.B. Adefidipe as Assistant Chief Mechanical Engineer, in the Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for Engineering Innovation.
Other Registry staff affected are, Mrs. M.M. Adewole as Principal Assistant Registrar; Mr. J.O. Agunbiade, Mrs. D.J. Adeyeye, and Mrs. F.E. Ajayi were also promoted to the post of Senior Assistant Registrars, while Mrs. J.A. Adewole, Mrs. C.T. Akinnagbe, Mrs. M.I. Onipede, Mrs. R.O. Adam as well as Messrs. M. Onovruze and J.A. Ademoroti as Assistant Registrars.
