Oladebeye Assures Students of Prioritised Welfare, As He Vows to Bequit a Half Billion Worth Hostel

Rector of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye has assured students to continue prioritising their welfare as he vowed that his administration would build a new hostel worth about Five Hundred Million Naira (500,000,000), in order to ease the accommodation problem encountered by students.

Dr. Oladebeye disclosed this while delivering his keynote address at the Orientation Programme organised for the Fresh Students admitted into the ND 1 and HND 1,  Morning and Evening programmes of the Polytechnic for the 2021/2022 Academic Session on Thursday, 2nd June, 2022.

The Rector, who reiterated that students welfare remain one of the top most priorities of his administration, advised the fresh students to take their studies seriously as education remains the only way to defeat poverty and ignorance.

While admonishing the students to attend lectures punctually, Dr. Oladebeye also advised them to avail themselves of at least a skill or vocation under the Institution’s entrepreneurship studies as that could be their saving grace in the nearest future.

The Rector, who stressed that education without entrepreneurial skill is incomplete in view of today’s reality”,  further encouraged the students to participate in legitimate extra-curricular activities and also acquire in-depth knowledge of ICT in view of the continuously-evolving world of ICT.

 Earlier in her welcome address, the Registrar of the Institution, Mrs. Kehinde Ekanem congratulated the students for having been privileged to be admitted to one of the leading Polytechnics in the Country.

Mrs. Ekanem, while urging the students to see their admission into the Polytechnic as a unique opportunity and a challenge, admonished them to set performance target for themselves and pursue them with all seriousness.

The Registrar who stated that Management of the Institution was passionate about providing conducive atmosphere for students, cautioned them against vandalisation and destruction of properties both in their respective classes and hostels.

While also advising the students to shun examination malpractices as it has caused many students to end their academic pursuit abruptly. Mrs. Ekanem urged them to be focused, avoid cultism, indecent dressing and abide by the Institution’s rules and regulations among others.

In his remarks, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Sunday Olajide expressed his appreciation to the Council, Rector and the entire Management team for availing the Directorate of Students’ Affairs the well withal to organize the programme.

Dr. Olajide urged the students to listen attentively to the resource persons in order to benefit from the orientation programme and also encouraged them to feel free to lodge their complaints at the appropriate quarters when the need arises.

At the Orientation Programme, the freshers were intimated on the relevance of the Digital Library, the relationship between the Bursary and the students, Administrative set-up of the Institution, importance of guidance and counseling, computation of cumulative grade point average and the essence of health registration, misuse of drugs and effect of abortion, sex education, among others.

Five thousand Naira (N5,000) for HND results with or without Transcript.

Ten thousand Naira (N10,000) for ND and HND results.

Step 3: Make the payment through Remita into the Polytechnic Reference account with the following code: 1000060528.

Step 4: Send your request to the email address verification.reg@fedpolyado.edu.ng. The verification process will begin promptly, and the outcome of the verification will be communicated to you via email.
