Moving FPA Forward, A Collective Engagement - Rector
Rector of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Dr. Temitope John Alake has appealed to staffers of the Institution to be patriotic, bring up ideas, suggestions and work together as a team in order to achieve greatness and the desired goals that will move the Citadel of learning forward.
Dr. Alake who made the appeal at the Community Meeting with members of staff on Wednesday, 25th January, 2024 appreciated God for His faithfulness since the inception of his tenure. His administration he said, “have been able to resolve major issues that has been causing troubles for the Institution. All cooperative indebtedness has been cleared, demigration from Grade Level 2-6 has been cleared and measures are being put in place to offset the remaining arrears.”
The Rector thanked the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe and the Founder of the Afe Babalola University, Aare Afe Babalola for the various interventions and assistance rendered to the Polytechnic. “The Institution he said, has migrated to the 33kv line courtesy of Baba Aare Afe Babalola and energy meters will be introduced especially for those living in the quarters.”
He also gave kudos to the Alumni Association of the Polytechnic for making proper utilization of the available resources at their disposal for the betterment of the Institution. He stated that the body has considered the plights of the students and handed over two blocks of Hostel Accommodation to the Management.
Dr. Alake therefore advised all Heads handling the Internally Generated Revenue units of the Polytechnic to manage the available resources at their disposal as the money generated into such units are not for personal gains. He added that commendation letters would be given to those who perform excellently well.
On staff welfare, the Rector stated that Tetfund has approved the sum of 1.05 billion naira for staff training/ development and approval of funds would be based on local rate. He enjoined members of staff to make judicious use of the money appropriately in order to avoid unforeseen circumstances.
He reeled out some projects that are in the pipeline, which included new Academic buildings, Firefighting equipment, water tanker, Students’ training equipment and other such needed facilities and equipment will be put in place and appropriate committees set up to look into various demands.
