FPA Felicitates Olawande On Appointment
The President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been commended for appointing a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti Hon. Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele as the Minister of State for Youth.
This commendation was made by Dr. T.J Alake, the Rector of the Institution at a Press Conference put together by the National Alumni Association of the Institution headed by Surv. Augustine Abiodun.
Dr. Alake who described the appointment of Hon Olawande as a beacon of hope for the youth of the Country appreciated the President for appointing a graduate of the Institution into the exalted position of a Minister as he expressed his excitement.
The Rector admonished the Minister to continue to be a good ambassador of the Institution by being selfless, committed and dedicated to the advancement of the youth in particular and the Country in general and prayed that God will continue to uphold him even as he discharges his duties to the benefit of man and to His glory.
Dr. Alake who is the Seventh Substantive Rector of the Institution noted that the Polytechnic would continue to produce the much needed manpower who will be upright academically and morally for the advancement of the nation as a healthy manpower is a healthy nation.
He appealed to the Minister not to forget his root by coming to the aid of the Polytechnic as it is in dire need of intra and inter transportation system and other infrastructural facilities.
Earlier in his address, the National President of the Alumni Association, Surv. Augustine Abiodun noted that the appointment of Hon. Olawande was synonymous with taking care of the future as the youth of today are the leaders of the nation in time to come.
Also in his address, Dr. Elijah Abe, a former Head of Department of Civil Engineering and a mentor to the Minister described Hon. Olawande as a brilliant, hardworking and dedicated personality who displayed the act of selflessness and full of respect for all while as a student.
Hon. Olawande who before his appointment was a youth leader and community development expert in Ondo State obtained his Ordinary National Diploma in 2015 and Higher National Diploma in 2018 in Civil Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti.
He also worked in the office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023, the youth Coordinator for the All Progressive Congress in Lagos State and the founder of the Action Youth Movement.
