Presenting the Award/Instrument of Commendation, the ASUP Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kewul Abel described the Rector as a man of courage whose ebullient nature fused with his remarkable administrative acumen is evident in the successes recorded so far in the Institution.

Rt. Hon. Kewul stated that as part of their engagement to the office of the Rector, was to ask after the welfare of the students as they are currently campaigning against drug abuse and other related social vices among students of higher institutions. He also noted that the ASUP, which consists of 54 member countries is currently having 3,714 former drug users on their follow up list around the continent who are being provided with the global acceptable guideline for withdrawal and they intend to do more. He therefore clamoured for support towards the continuation of the campaign.
