Unruly Action of some Students: The Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti Reacts
The attention of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti has been drawn to some viral video clips circulated across social media platforms, showcasing unruly action and unwarranted protest among some students, whose excesses were being put under control by the Institution’s security operatives.
The fact of the matter is that, at about 3.00pm on Friday 15th July, 2022 and in furtherance of the ongoing first semester examinations, some students of the Institution, who were waiting to take their turns to write the examination at the CBT Center of the Polytechnic Library, became unruly, while arrangement was being made for them to sit and wait comfortably, away from the scourging sun, inside the nearby Conference Hall of the Polytechnic, recently renovated and commissioned for use.
The situation became worse and uncontrollable due to the impatience and lack of cooperation amongst some of the students, to such an extent that the newly-fixed glass door of the Conference Hall was destroyed, broken and pulled down by the unruly students.
We wish to assure the general public that not only has the situation been brought under control, the ring leaders of the gory scene have been identified, while investigation has since commenced.
The Management of the Polytechnic believes in law and order and would not condone any indiscipline, under whatever guise; hence, anyone, staff or student, whose guilt and impropriety is established, following necessary investigation, will receive appropriate sanctions.
